If you experience flood or water damage in your home or commercial building you should contact your private flood company or insurance company. Then separate damaged property from undamaged property. Take photographs of all damages including discarded items. Make a list of damaged or lost items; include the date of purchase and receipts if possible. The adjuster will provide a “Proof of Loss” form that you will need to file with your insurance company within sixty days.
